Each of us has personally experienced the rise of technology over the years, from AI being a fancy term, to the current situation where it is implemented in almost every single useful device, thus changing the dynamics of our day-to-day lifestyles through the boundaries that it pushes on a daily basis. One sector where there is rapid development of the possibilities of technology surpassing manual work is in the world of digital marketing.

In a classic example of the above statement coinciding together, I was able to come across the first AI-generated advertisement in Malayalam. Some crew members were hoping to take their leap after launching their festive advertisement for Skei Ice Creams.

As a business, having your ads running are meant to boost your product , and with this happening during the period of Vushi and Easter, there is the opportunity to bring in new customers, which is what motivated and inspired Skei ice cream while they creatively came up with their ad campaign titled “A Divine Heist. A Divine Indulgence”.

So how did this technology bound together with creativity help stand out from the others? With the use of over AI generated images, it is possible to create a vivid free flowing world which ultimately led to the production and idealistic world that we do not usually see in commercial awe.

Are We Competing with AI or Creating with It? 

The rising conversation of AI taking over human jobs has recently sparked in the arena of digital marketing. But in my opinion, just the opposite is true. We are not getting replaced; we are getting additional support to do our jobs creatively and efficiently. AI is a remarkable tool that refines creativity and amplifies production. Estorytelling is at the core of humanity and with the help of AI, the possibilities are endless.

With the many brands focused solely on product selling as a means of generating revenue, creativity gets thrown out of the window. Ske Ice Creams’ campaign was a refreshing take on advertising. With the right imagination partnered with innovative technology, magnificent results get produced.

Hats off to the team behind Skeis campaign. Rather than solely creating an advertisement, they crafted an experience. More importantly, it clearly demonstrates that the future of advertising will not be a matter of humans competing with machines, but rather a collaboration.
